Purpose of Establishment

“Soil Security” is a key goal that maintains normal soil function considering the productivity, quality, and value of the soil. Therefore, studies on the management model centered on developed countries are actively being carried out. In line with this research trend, the center aims to take a position as an excellent university research center by strengthening the capacity of research and improving research support system to nurture professionals.

Background and Necessity of Establishment

Integrate the abilities of post-doctorate full-time research staff in and out of the school and secure research projects to establish a professional and independent university research infrastructure.

Area of Research and Business

Strengthen university research capabilities: Foster research infrastructure and professionals

- Research on Korean soil security model and build its foundation based on regional characteristics

- Strengthen the capabilities of fostering professional global students

- Strengthen the integrated research capabilities through a network

- Increase the number of professional staff such as research professors, full-time researchers (Post Doc) and graduate students

- Boost the capability of university research by fostering professionals

- Expand international collaborative research and research exchanges in the short-term

- Strengthen global competence of the students through collaboration between international

- Innovate the research model of the national university from catch-up type to leader through the improvement of collective research capabilities in the field of sustainable soil environment management

- University-led local industry development through research on securing original technology for Korean soil security

- Conduct international collaborative research by building a global network

- Contribute to the entry of Kangwon National University as a world’s top 100 university through vitalization and quality improvement of research and improvement of internationalization index by strengthening the global capacity of students
